The HighScope Nursery provides high quality care and education for children from the age of two to five. We are an independent nursery currently based at Halliford Community Centre in Upper Halliford village. The nursery was established in 1976 in Lower Sunbury and relocated to Halliford Community Centre in Spring 2017. We are a family business with a loyal and committed staff team; at our last two inspections we were graded Outstanding by Ofsted.
We work with all our families to facilitate their child's learning and development by providing a wide variety of activities and experiences. All children have a key person who is primarily responsible for their care throughout their time with us. This enables staff to get to know each child well and to plan individual activities based on each child's likes, interests and learning style.
We use the HighScope approach in the nursery; this was developed in the USA as a system that supports all children to learn at their own pace and in their own style. We also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as directed by the government.
We play outdoors every day, whatever the weather, in our own play area.
Painting, craft activities, role play, construction toys, puzzles, games, books, sand and water play and the computer are available every day.
Our nursery offers your child the opportunity to learn and develop in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
In the term after your child's third birthday the government funds 15 hours of nursery education for your child. Fees are payable for extra hours attended. From September 2017 some families will be eligible for government funding for 30 hours per week. Some families may be eligible for funding for under 3's, please telephone us for advice and information, or contact Surrey Family Information Service
